Without doubt, no one likes when they catch a cold or the flu so this is why prevention is very important. The most common signs of colds and flu are stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, fever, and cough. Severe and persistent coughing can be really difficult to bear and rather painful, so it is good to know what remedies are able to reduce it. The one we have prepared for you today is 100 percent natural and has been used for decades.
Natural Syrup against Cough
¼ cup of ginger root
¼ cup of chamomile flowers
¼ cup of lemon juice
A tbsp of cinnamon
A cup of honey
250 ml of water
Preparation: Fill a saucepan with the water and add the dried herbs to it. Bring it to boil and when it reaches boiling point, lower the heat to minimum. When half of the liquid has evaporated, turn off the heat. Strain the liquid into a bowl and add the honey and lemon juice and stir it well. Transfer the content into a sealable container and store it in the fridge for 2 months.
Use: Take 1 tbsp of the syrup 3 times per day. Children should take only one tbsp daily.
Additional Tip: For a dry cough, add a tsp of dried mint leaves to the syrup.
